Welcome to June!
Every month, we spotlight young researchers proferring solutions to their field of research interest.
Academic Hive Young Scholar for June 2022, is Ngunan Ioron Aloho.
Ngunan is from Nigeria but resides in the UK. She has scaled through various academic quests and has achieved remarkable excellence.
As a trained Legal practitioner and Master’s student in comparative and International Social Policy, she has researched social justice and sexual exploitation and was selected as a World Justice Challenge Finalist for the World Justice Forum in the Hague, the Netherlands in 2022.
Ngunan works with the Samuel Ioron Foundation and the University of York. Her research interest includes social issues such as gender inequalities, migration, human trafficking, climate and women, gendered poverty and elderly care. Ngunan is currently researching sexual exploitation in vulnerable spaces like the Internally Displaced Camps and Refugee camps; as well as gender inequalities and privilege in Nigeria.
Her research is aimed at exposing sexual exploitation in vulnerable spaces, which will hopefully influence more effective policies on database management for displaced camps and reduce the criminalization of humanitarian aid workers exploiting women and girls.
