The department of Radio Systems (RS) at the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (EEMCS) is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Professor in Signal Processing for Communications.
Research in telecommunications is continuously fueling the advent of new generations of systems with ever-growing capabilities. The RS group has a strong position in the research of the physical layer of telecommunication systems, ranging from low data rates (Internet-of-Things) to high data rates (5G, evolving into 6G). The subjects that they research and teach are
- Channel modeling
- Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)
- Signal processing algorithms and efficient realizations (in both the analog and digital domains)
- System level design.
Tasks
The candidate will perform the following tasks:
- Spend your time 50/50 on teaching and research, a reduced teaching load in the beginning years is the norm;
- Teach theoretical and more applied BSc/MSc courses in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science;
- Give lectures in English. Mastering the Dutch language is not a prerequisite, but naturally a long term goal;
- A high degree of responsibility and independence, while collaborating with close colleagues, researchers and other university staff is strongly encouraged.
Salary
- A starting salary from € 3.821,- to € 5.943,- gross per month, based on relevant work experience;
- A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;

- A minimum of 29 leave days in case of fulltime employment based on a formal workweek of 38 hours;

- Hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, or a related field;
- Have an existing track record in the relevant areas shown by publications in high-rank journals or strong evidence of high research potential;
