Call for Papers: The Asian Journal of African Studies (AJAS)

The Asian Journal of African Studies (AJAS) welcomes the submission of various forms of scholarly writings including research papers, book reviews, and research notes in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and development studies.

Manuscripts must be original work contributing to the literature of African studies or Africa-related field of studies. They must not be submitted to any other journal while under review with AJAS. Nevertheless, the specific areas of the research could range from:

  • African history, languages and literature,
  • Anthropology,

  • Sociology among many others.

However, for AJAS, manuscripts can be research papers, book reviews, and research notes. A research paper is academic writing based on the author’s original theoretical or empirical analysis on a particular topic (related to Africa in this case). A review paper is to describe and analyze a book on its content, style, and academic/societal contribution. A research note is to introduce research trends in African studies, which could encourage debate on methodological and ethical issues existing in the field.
