Applicants are welcome to the DAAD In-Region Postgraduate Scholarship Programme in the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics for African Students 2021.
The DAAD In-Region Scholarship Programme aims at fostering strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa with the capacity to contribute to sustainable development. To this end, scholarships are granted for development-related Master’s or doctoral studies for individuals who plan to pursue a career in teaching and/or research at a higher education institution in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The target group for scholarships is graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa) who want to participate in a study program (MSc or Ph.D. studies) at the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics.

Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must
- Nationals or permanent residents from Sub-Saharan African countries (not South Africans)
- BSc Hon degree (MSc) or MSc degree (Ph.D.) with at least Second Class/Upper-division 60%
- Thorough knowledge of English
- Completed last university degree 6 years ago at the time of application
- Show motivation and a strong commitment
- Female applicants and candidates from less privileged regions or groups are highly encouraged
- From one of these groups:
a) Staff member of a public university
b) Candidate considered for teaching or research staff recruitment
c) Public sector employee
d) Alumni of the DAFI program (Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative)

- Lists of conference presentation
- List of publications
- Attachment to uploaded to the form:
- Hand-signed CV using Europass format
- Certified copy of passport
- Certified copies of all Academic degree transcripts.
