The University of Edinburgh’s MSc Internal Medicine is offering a one-year scholarship to students from developing countries to study the above-mentioned course in the institution this coming academic year 2012/22.
Edinburgh Internal Medicine Masters Scholarships are offered to applicants who have been offered admission on the MSc in Internal Medicine Programme and have firmly accepted that offer or are intending to do so. Applicants must be domiciled and as well as working in one of the less economically advantaged countries which include: Algeria, Cuba, Jamaica, Namibia, Malawi, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Djibouti, Kenya, Czechoslovakia, Thailand, Armenia, Argentina, Botswana, Colombia, Morocco, St Lucia, etc.
However, academic merit and personal statement are the basis on which the decisions are made. Applicant’s personal statement should explain how he/she currently contributes to local and/or national healthcare organizations, as well as how his/her involvement in the Program would improve his/her commitment to health-care services in his/her country.
After completing their studies, successful applicants will be required to:
- work in their country’s health care system;
- use their knowledge and skills to improve and expand that system; and
- promote clinical and academic connections between their country’s medical colleges, teaching hospitals, health care organizations, and research institutes, and The University of Edinburgh
- uphold the highest academic expectations
- abide by the university’s rules and regulations, as well as good academic practice
- Support the Internal Medicine student group by presenting a session on global practice at our student club.
