The Chair of Modern English Literature and Culture invites applications for a temporary lectureship (teaching only) in modern English Language and literature.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach and co-teach courses in modern English literature. It may be an advantage to be able to teach literary theory and Romanticism and to contribute to thesis supervision. (For North American applicants: the teaching is equivalent to a 2-3 load per year).

Duration: The appointment will be on a fixed-term basis from 1 February until July 31 2024.
Salary
- a salary, depending on qualifications and work experience, with a minimum of € 3 ,226 to a maximum of € 5,090 (salary scale 10) gross per month for a full-time position
- a statutory 8% holiday allowance
- an 8.3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees
- favourable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- have completed a PhD in English literature or a closely related field
- be able to support students in their learning
- have experience teaching English literature at the university level
- be competent administrators who can function in a variety of online environments
- be able to work in a team and under the supervision of course coordinators
- have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
