Microbiology Research Assistant Position in the Netherlands

The Microbiology Unit within the department of Marine Microbiology and Biogeochemistry (MMB) calls for applications for the position of Microbiology Research Assistant in the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ).

Several microbiology laboratories, culture facilities, and analytical instrumentation labs are located in the Microbiology Unit of the department MMB. A group of research and laboratory assistants (headed by a lab coordinator) administers and maintains the available analytical apparatuses, develops desirable methodologies, trains users, and transfers necessary knowledge when needed. Microbes (photoautotrophs and heterotrophs, aerobes, and anaerobes) are also separated and grown in culture for use in experiments.

However, they strive to ensure that their staff reflects the diversity of society, including age, gender, ethnic and cultural background. They therefore very much appreciate candidates who are able to increase the diversity of NIOZ.
