The Materials-Driven Regeneration (MDR) consortium of the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMC Utrecht) has an opening for a full-time post-doctoral researcher position on materials biofunctionalization.
The project will focus on developing materials that can guide and steer the formation of anisotropic cartilage tissue, particularly its collagen network, which is essential for its durable functioning in the articular joint. The primary focus will be on the design, synthesis, and functionalization of biologically compatible materials for cartilage regeneration that can be processed with cutting-edge 3D (bio)printing technologies.
The candidate will join the Biofabrication for Translational Regenerative Medicine group at the Regenerative Medicine Center Utrecht. He/she will coordinate your work within an (inter)national network of collaborators while working with an ambitious, motivated, multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, veterinarians, physicists, chemists, biologists, and engineers. He/she will co-supervise PhD and master students; teaching opportunities will be available if desired.
Duration: 3 Years.
