The Department of Molecules and Materials, Faculty of Science & Technology has a position for Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in Functional Polymer Surfaces in the Netherlands.
As a postdoc, the candidate will design functional polymer surfaces for electrically switchable adhesives to capture and release proteins and flavor molecules. They will be collaborating within and helping with the coordination of a large consortium of material scientists, process engineers, and industrial partners working on the Recovery and Circularity of Valuable Resources (ReCoVR), where their project is part. Moreover, they will support two PhD students working within ReCoVR on topics closely related to your project.
Tasks
For this position in Functional Polymer Surfaces:
- Part of the job will be to assist in teaching Statistical Thermodynamics / Molecular Modelling in the Chemical Science and Engineering (CSE) program, and
- To supervise CSE bachelor and master students in their final projects.
Duration: 2 years
Salary
- The salary amounts, depending on education and experience, minimal € 3.420,-to a maximum of € 4.490,- gross per month.
The offer further involves:
- a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
- a solid pension scheme;
- a minimum of 29 holidays;

Job Requirements
- For the Senior Postdoc Researcher in Functional Polymer Surfaces position, Twente is searching for an ambitious candidate with a doctoral degree in Physics or Chemistry, with a strong affinity with teaching.
- A solid background in soft matter science is essential and experience in molecular modelling is a requirement.
