The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is inviting applications from professionals for its 2024 Technical Fellowships programme.
UICC’s mission is to unite and support the cancer community in its efforts to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority on the world health and development agenda.
The Technical Fellowships allow cancer professionals to gain new knowledge, skills, and techniques in cancer control through short learning visits of two weeks to two months. Fellowships will be prioritized that focus on preventing cancer or detecting it early as well as those projects that ensure equitable access to affordable and effective treatment and the supportive and palliative care of cancer survivors. Fellowship topics can include cancer research if it is implementation, translational, or clinical research that leads directly to improved health and well-being of cancer patients.
The objectives of this fellowship include
- Facilitate the international exchange and development of technical knowledge and skills in cancer control.
- Build the capacity of the individual and the home organization by effectively applying and disseminating the newly acquired skills in the home organization upon return.
