Nominations are currently welcome for the Volvo Environment Prize for Outstanding Scientist 2022.
Since environmental stewardship and sustainability are and have long been, part of the Volvo Group’s core values. Volvo is a leader in the development of automobiles and heavy-duty equipment that run on renewable fuels, hybrids, and electricity. The aim is to become the world’s leading provider of environmentally-friendly transportation solutions. For the Volvo Community, sustainability also entails building mutual value, not only for shareholders but also for communities and individuals. Support for scientific studies and technologies that bring the world down a more prosperous road is one of these initiatives.
The aim of this prize is to encourage scientific study and advances in the environmental and sustainability fields in general. The award ceremony is held in November each year in Stockholm, self-nominations are not permitted.
Award
The Volvo Environment Prize for Outstanding Scientist is given out once a year and consists of
- a hand-crafted certificate,
- a glass sculpture, and
- a SEK 1.5 million cash prize (approximately EUR 150,000 or USD 160,000).
Eligibility
Volvo Environment Prize for Outstanding Scientist nomination is open to laureates representing all fields of environmental and sustainability studies and initiatives.
